William Alexander Beck was born May 21st, 1950 to Anna Hoffman and Joseph beck of Norwalk, California. Growing up with 2 older siblings Albert and Thomas Beck, Bill was very active in sports playing baseball and running cross-country, and Scouting. Bill had a great passion for Baseball, played Catcher and 2nd base, he even got invited to attend a spring training camp with the Angels his junior year, But what Bill acceded at was Scouting. Starting at the cub scout level and achieving Eagle Scout at the age of 15 in 1965. A huge achievement that he has since passed on to his Grandsons. On March 23rd, 1968 Bill would meet the love of his Life Paula Rose. Paula and Bill married on October 26 1968 they were together for 50 years before Paula preceded him in death on December 4th, 2017. Bill and Paula had 2 children Scott William Beck and Stacy Rose Beck-Houston. After Bill and Paula were married Bill worked as a Tool and Die maker for Thermal Engineering. He then co-owned his own company Telco and Beck and Associates which sold utility vaults and PVC piping to telecommunications companies, he then moved on to underground utility vaults and fuel systems, which then paved the way for wastewater treatment and Orenco systems. A lifelong workaholic Bill was still taking calls and answering emails while receiving treatment for stage 4 Colon cancer. Bill not only was a scout, but he also volunteered for Scouting for the last 35 years in one form or another, he has been a scoutmaster of troop 176 in Fremont CA, also troop 62 and troop 5 in Corning he was also a Woodbadge trained adult leader and also taught on 2 different Woodbadge trainings. Bill was also most recently on the Camp Lassen Committee and volunteered every summer to help open and close the camp, along with being able to help while at camp for many years. A lifelong Catholic Bill was also a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and volunteered as a catechism teacher and youth group chaperone for many years, he was also on the Hall Building, and Finance committee for Immaculate Conception Church in Corning and was instrumental in the primary fundraising for the New Parish Hall. Surviving Bill is his brothers Albert and Thomas Beck, his children, Scott Beck and Stacy Beck-Houston, grandchildren Rebecka Beck, John, Alexander, and Liam Houston. Bill was a great Mentor and friend a loving father and Grandfather. In lieu of flowers please make a small donation to BSA Troop 5 and help send a boy to Camp.
